The Client Experience

We created a promotional piece for a Visit Florida, the official tourism marketing corporation for the state of Florida.

 

Client Need.

Visit Florida is the state’s official tourism corporation that operates as a public-private partnership with Florida and promotes the state as a tourist destination. Tourism is Florida’s number one industry. More than 112 million people visited Florida in 2016, spending about $111 billion. Unfortunately visitors planning to come to Florida in September 2017 had to postpone visits when Hurricane Irma struck Florida. It was the first hurricane to make direct landfall in the state in 12 years, causing billions of dollars in damage. To jumpstart the tourism industry as quickly as possible, Visit Florida worked with its independent visual storytellers to produce 30 second video stories in areas that had recovered to show Florida was “open for business.”

Our Approach.

We were assigned Beach Drive, a beautiful scene along St. Petersburg’s picturesque waterfront. We spent a couple of days filming 4K video of St. Petersburg’s The Dali, parks, and events to capture the lively scenes that make St. Petersburg unique as a cultural destination.

Outcome.

Our work as well as the work of other visual storytellers across the state was displayed in Times Square. The videos played every 5 minutes of every hour on the NASDAQ and Reuters screens October 16 through Thanksgiving weekend. We also edited a 30-second video that Visit Florida published on their digital platforms.
