Client Need.

Jesuit High School is one of our favorite schools in Tampa Bay. Why? They embrace young men from all walks of life, teach them to be good leaders and give back to their community, and provide a top-notch education. Jesuit is entirely dependent on it’s own funding through tuition and money the school raises; the school doesn’t receive assistance from the Jesuit Order and the Diocese of St. Petersburg. Some amazing people graduate from Jesuit who go on to become professional athletes, congressman, prominent businessmen, and more. So we jumped at the opportunity to work with the school when their awesome Director of Communications, Peter Young, asked us to produce the state of the school update for their capital campaign: For the Glory of God. It was a wonderful opportunity to help them showcase all the good they do.

Our Approach.

Pete gave us Jesuit’s vision, and we went to work. First, we discussed with Pete all the moments we should document. Did we mention that Pete is an awesome collaborator? He got us access to the football locker room, game sidelines, classrooms, church services, important donor events, swimming practice — whatever we needed to film, Pete made it happen.

Second, we worked with Pete and the school’s president, Father Richard Hermes, S.J., to film the State of the School address that would carry the narrative. Then we went to work editing. We provided early drafts to Pete, who helped further refine the school’s vision for the video. That’s one thing we love to do: involve our clients in the process from start to finish.

Outcome.

The video was a huge hit for the school. Not only did the Board of Trustees love it, it broke records on social media. The video was viewed on Facebook more than 16,000 times and got almost 400 likes. The experience was also very rewarding for us. We got to see all these parents, alumni, and students express who proud they are of their school.
