The wedding singer and other funny tales

I'm asked quite often what it's like to shoot weddings. I have to admit that while it's a lot of work, it's also a lot of fun. That's because I try to help the day run as smoothly as possible and stay lighthearted about everything going on. I also have a secret weapon. I have one of the best assistants in this business. Yes, he is my husband/sherpa/gopher, but he's also such a wonderful support to everybody else on the wedding day. He makes the day go much smoother and fun but is such a support to both me and my brides. Hank is also a bundle of funny as you can see in these photos :)I'm at the point where I'm often asked by my brides to make sure I bring Hank along to their weddings. They've seen us both hard at work at our weddings and understand our teamwork. It's all him I swear :) Nobody else can gather a wedding party and family quite like Hank. He keeps everybody laughing while keeping the session time to a minimum. And frankly for me, it allows me to think about composition and how everybody's looking in the images. It's a great help!I don't have a ton of great photos of myself because while I love Hank, he's not a photographer. I do dig the one of me from Neha and Michael's wedding that my friend and second shooter from the day, Christine shot. I'm waiting for the cake cutting in the picture. It looks like I'm trying to hold back my watering mouth :)Yes, I love what I do. I also love to laugh and smile. So, for me, being with my husband and shooting weddings is like the ultimate "marriage" of my likes. What could be better?
