Mary Elizabeth and Nathaniel's wedding in Versailles, Kentucky | Part I

Mary Elizabeth and Nathaniel's wedding was such a fun occasion to document. The spirit that surrounded them as they said their vows was so peaceful and serene. Theirs was a buddhist inspired ceremony that just took my breath away as I moved through the brush around them. I had chosen to make photographs during the meditation time and was pretty happy I did. It was awe-inspiring to look around and take in the peaceful moment.
I've known Nathaniel and his family for over 20 years I believe. I babysat his little sister Natalie and his mom, Marty, was somebody I considered a mentor and I still count her as my biggest inspiration to become an artist and later a storyteller.
When I first met Mary Elizabeth, I knew I'd met a new friend. They are one of those complimentary couples who just work together. They inspire me with their togetherness (you can see their earlier engagement session). At one point during the day, I texted Mary Elizabeth ( M.E. for short) to tell her I was headed her way after photographing Nathaniel (Nat for short). She replied asking me how the shooting had gone. My only response was that Nat was goofy as ever. He was having a blast and I think it shows in the images. I know that's what M.E. loves about Nat. He's authentically him. (On a side note, I know that's why Nat and my husband get along so well.)
I'll be posting the second half of this wedding very soon. Please check back to see the rest and read about some of the special details M.E. wrote about her special day!
